Does a white light prove the HDMI port is broken?
No. The light alone cannot identify which part of the video path has failed. A console can be powered on while the television is on the wrong input, an intermediary device is blocking the signal, or the HDMI hardware is damaged. The important distinction is whether the console fails with more than one known-good cable and display.
Tell the technician whether the problem began after a drop, a cable pull, moving the console or changing TVs. A sudden fault after physical impact calls for a different inspection from a screen that only goes black when a particular game changes video modes.
What can you check without opening the PS5?

Avoid reset or system-software reinstallation options as a first response to a suspected damaged connector because some options erase data.
Sony recommends checking cables when Safe Mode cannot be displayed. Follow the official instructions for your console rather than guessing button sequences or choosing destructive menu options. A factory reset cannot reconnect a broken HDMI pin or repair a torn motherboard pad.
